Free Solution — your own GPU, no subscription
Already have a server or a workstation that meets what Isaac Lab asks for — an NVIDIA RTX card and a current CUDA driver? Then UnitPort costs you nothing to train with. Install the local helper on that machine, pair it with your account, and the canvas drives it as your own training centre. The hardware is yours, so there is no hourly bill.

Install the helper
On the machine with your GPU, open a terminal and run these in order.
python -m pip install --user pipxpython -m pipx ensurepathpipx install unitportReopening the terminal is what lets you run unitport from anywhere. If it still says command not found, use python -m unitport instead.
Pair it with your account
Run the login command. It prints a link — open that in a browser where you are signed in, and click Approve. The helper dials out to us, so the machine needs no public address and you open no inbound port.

Keep the daemon up and the canvas can reach that machine. It is headless — there is no second application to learn.
unitport upFirst time on a machine: unitport doctor self-checks it, and unitport config sets your Isaac Lab paths. The machine then shows up in the canvas as somewhere you can send a run.
What this costs: nothing. The editor, the compiler and every run on hardware you own are free, and they stay free. Two things are metered, and only two: GPU time on UnitPort's own machines, and the AI assistant, which bills what the model actually reports using. Neither can start without you choosing it.
